Abstract
BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVES: Background and Objective: Introducing poets and their poetry and correcting manuscripts, especially single-copy manuscripts, are among the priorities of researchers to help revive the Persian language. The Illustrated Divan of Tehrani, a poet and painter of the Qajar period, is a single-copy manuscript in the manuscript collection of Astan Quds Razavi, which has not been corrected. However, an incomplete copy of this work is also available in the Bankipur Library in India. The aim of this study is to examine the manuscript of the Illustrated Divan of Tehrani based on layered stylistics.
METHODOLOGY: The present study is a manuscript study based on documentary and library studies. In the section on the frequency of stylistic elements, statistical methods have been used.
FINDINGS: In addition to these two versions, illustrated poems are found in the Qajar period"s Janghay and Tadziras. This study, while briefly introducing Tehrani"s illustrated poems and his poetry collection, has examined and analyzed his poems in terms of layered stylistics in five layers: phonetic, lexical, syntactic, rhetorical, and ideological. In terms of stylistics, illustrated poems are desirable in the phonetic, musical, and phonetic levels. In the lexical layer, the high frequency of formal words has made his style educational and formal, and there is no trace of intimate and intimate conversation in his poetry. Marked words in illustrated poems are close to zero, and the abundant use of unmarked words makes his stylistic level zero and his speech formal, which is more suitable for the court atmosphere.
CONCLUSION: The use of more mental and dark words than clear and sensual words has made his poetry holistic and philosophical. At the syntactic level, prepositions in the old meaning and the subject pronoun "sh" are archaic examples at the syntactic level of his poetry. The ideology of his poetry is in the romantic-mystical sonnets and in the worldview odes of power.
